Iyan and Spirituality

The spiritual realm serves as the fundamental basis for everything in the physical world. It is from this spiritual root that the first thoughts emerge, encompassing the purpose and reason for the existence of the physical realm. This concept is known as "inyan."

Our primary objective is to bridge the gap between the spiritual and the physical, achieving unity and connection. We accomplish this through an awareness and profound reverence (Awe) for the inyan, which represents the spiritual essence within physical matter.

The method of Torah learning provides a valuable framework for discovering the inyan. Interestingly, this approach applies not only to studying Torah but also to learning in the "secular" world. The process is remarkably simple and straightforward, merely involving the act of "looking it up." However, despite its simplicity, "looking it up" often proves to be one of the most challenging tasks for individuals in this world, primarily because we tend to cling to our comfort zones.

Many people are resistant to having their belief systems challenged or shaken. It is seemingly "easier" to dwell in a fantasy world or false reality, rather than seeking truth and understanding the inyan. Uncovering the truth requires us to break free from our accustomed patterns and make adjustments to our beliefs and physical world. This realization often brings discomfort, as it necessitates taking full responsibility for our actions, which is no easy feat.

Moreover, embracing the path of discovering the inyan means standing in opposition to the prevailing status quo. It involves crossing over into uncharted territories. This concept may sound familiar, as it echoes significant transformative journeys throughout history.

What we often fail to recognize is that this path leads to true freedom—a freedom from the bondage of ignorance. It is the road to success and genuine happiness, akin to reaching the promised land. This path unifies the spiritual and physical realms, connecting the world to come (olam haba) with the present world (olam hazeh). Importantly, this transformative journey not only transcends religion alone; it holds the potential to guide us towards the ultimate destination.

This understanding sheds light on the profound meaning behind the verse in Mishle (Proverbs) that states, "The fear (awe) of Hashem is the beginning of wisdom." When we recognize and embrace the awe of Hashem, the spiritual essence that permeates all of creation, we embark on the path of true wisdom. By cultivating reverence for the inyan, we open ourselves up to the vast knowledge and understanding that can only be attained through a deep connection with the spiritual realm.

In conclusion, the journey of Kosher Universal Spirituality involves acknowledging the root of everything physical is in the spiritual, unifying the two realms through the awareness of the inyan. Through Torah learning and the courage to seek truth, we can break free from the limitations of our own belief systems and find genuine freedom and happiness. By embracing the awe of Hashem, we lay the foundation for true wisdom and embark on a transformative journey towards a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world around us.
